KidzVuz Privacy Policy

KidzVuz, LLC (“KidzVuz” or “we” or “us”) created this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) to give you confidence as you and your children visit the www.KidzVuz.com website (the “Site”) and use the KidzVuz services (the “Services”) provided through the Site. KidzVuz is a SAFE online environment targeted at children 7-12 years old where they can go to get the latest buzz on toys, games, books, movies, television shows, and other products directly from other kids just like them. Our information collection, use and disclosure practices are fully compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). And the terms of this Privacy Policy are also applied to our iOS Mobile Application. For further information on COPPA, please click here.

1. About This Privacy Policy and Our Services
This Privacy Policy governs how we collect, use and disclose information about the children, parents and legal guardians who access the Site (“You”). This Privacy Policy is only applicable to the Site and not to any other websites that you may be able to access from the Site (whether through an advertisement, service, or content link) or any website of KidzVuz’s partners, if any, each of which may have data collection, storage, use and disclosure practices and policies that differ materially from this Privacy Policy.
While you may use some of the functionality of the Site without registering for an account, many of the Services available on the Site require registration. If you use our Site without registering, the only information we collect will be non-personally identifiable, aggregate information (Non-Personal Information) (please see Section 2 below). If you choose to register yourself or your child with our Site, we require you to submit certain information personally identifying you and your child, as applicable, (“Personal Information”) (please see Section 3 below). You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the Personal Information submitted to KidzVuz. Inaccurate information will affect the quality of your experience when using our Site and our ability to contact you as described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Non-Personal Information We Automatically Collect About You
Even if you do not register with KidzVuz, we collect Non-Personal Information about your use of our Site via the following:
A. Cookies
We use “cookies” to customize your experience on the Site and, if you create a password, to store it so you do not have to re-enter it each time you visit the Site. Cookies are small computer files that are transferred to your computer’s hard drive that contain information such as your username, user preferences, the pages you’ve visited and the activities you’ve performed while using the Site. We do not link the information stored in cookies to any of your Personal Information you may submit to the Site. You may block cookies or delete cookies from your hard drive; however, by disabling cookies, you may not have access to all of the features of the Site. Some of our business partners also use cookies to provide us with anonymous data and information regarding your use of the Site. We do not have access or control over these cookies, our Privacy Policy does not cover the use of third party cookies.
B. Web Beacons
We also use “web beacons” to collect anonymous information about your use of our Site and the websites of selected sponsors and advertisers, your use of emails, special promotions and/or newsletters we may send to you. Web beacons are tiny graphic image files embedded in a web page or email that provide a presence on the web page or email and send back to its home server information from the user’s browser. The information collected by web beacons allows us to statistically monitor how many people are using our Site, visiting selected sponsors’ and advertisers’ websites, opening our emails, and for what purposes. Our web beacons are not used to track your activity outside of our Site. We do not link Non-Personal Information from web beacons to Personal Information without your permission.
C. Traffic Data
We automatically track and collect the following categories of information when you visit our Site: (1) IP addresses; (2) domain servers; (3) types of computers accessing the Site; (4) types of web browsers used to access the Site; (5) referring source which may have sent you to the Site; and (6) other information associated with the interaction of your browser and the Site (collectively “Traffic Data”). We do not link Non-Personal Information from Traffic Data to Personal Information without your permission.
3. Personal Information We Collect About You
A. Registration
In order to access certain areas of the Site and use certain Services, we require you to register and provide us with certain Personal Information. A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR ANY CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF 13. To create an account on the Site a child or parent of the child can initiate the child’s account creation by providing the child’s user name/display name, password, age and birthday, gender, state or province, and a parent email. Providing of a child’s email is optional, and will only be used for password reset and general site-wide alerts pending parent approval. On behalf of the child’s request to register for the Site, we will email parents and legal guardians to provide our COPPA Notice regarding what information we have already collected, that we intend to allow the child to have limited Site access that requires no further personal information and does not allow for any potential disclosure of personal information, and that we will retain the parent email to administer the child’s account for this limited Site access including password recovery and future request for parent consent. A Parent can opt out of this limited Site access. Before making any further use of the Parent email and before collecting any information that would allow the Site to interact directly with your child, we will request a Parent’s affirmative consent. To provide us with affirmative consent, the parent must, among other requirements, (a) click on the “registration verification link” contained in the Confirmation Email (as defined in the COPPA Notice); (b) provide information, including limited, basic, Personal Information about themselves and their children, as prompted by our registration processes; (c) agree to abide by our Terms & Conditions and to ensure that any use of the Site and/or the Services by their children does not violate our Terms of Service; (d)review and edit their child’s username to ensure that no personally identifiable information is present in the child’s display name; and (e) review and consent to the Site’s practices in collecting and using Personal Information from children under 13 years of age as specified in the COPPA Notice and this Privacy Policy..
Personal Information includes data, such as a parent’s first and last name, e-mail address, telephone number, a child’s first and last name, mailing address, email address or SMS address – those these will only be collected if consented to by the parent. The child’s age and birth date, username and password, hobbies and interests, and user generated content may be combined with the registration data.
Additionally, if a parent opts in to our Star Reviewer Program, we will also ask for the parent’s mailing address, but at no time will we link a child’s full name to a home address.
No personal information as defined by COPPA will be made available to the public, including other Site visitors. We do not require child members to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to interact with the Site and to participate in the Services. We use the Personal Information that you provide to offer you with the specific Services you select, respond to your questions, send you emails about Site maintenance and updates and for internal marketing research purposes. KIDZVUZ DOES NOT SHARE, SELL, RENT OR TRADE THE PERSONAL INFORMATION OF ITS USERS WITH ANY THIRD PARTIES FOR THEIR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES without your explicit consent .
Inquiries: Subject to the Privacy Policy, if you contact KidzVuz, we may use any of the information you submit in connection with your inquiry, or any of your Personal Information and Non-Personal Information when responding to your inquiries.
B. Email to You
We may use your contact data to send you information about the Site and the Services and/or to contact you when necessary and in conjunction with your use of certain Services. In some cases, when you click on a link in an e-mail, your browser may be momentarily directed to the Site of a third party which, acting on behalf of KidzVuz (see Section 6 below), notes or “counts” your response to the e-mail before re-directing your browser to your selected destination; this re-direction process may not be apparent to you.
C. Updating Your Personal Information
Registered users may update their Personal Information at any time by logging into their account and clicking on the “My Hive” link.
D. Parental Review of Children’s Personal Information
Any parent or legal guardian of a child under the age of 13 who is registered as a member of KidzVuz may contact KidzVuz at any time and request to review his or her child’s Personal Information, ask to have it deleted and/or refuse to allow any further collection or use of their child’s Personal Information by KidzVuz. To request any of the above, please send KidzVuz an e-mail at: members@kidzvuz.com (with “Parental Review Request” in the subject line of the message), which includes the following:
- your child’s first name and last initial, username and password;
- your first and last name;
- your e-mail address;
- a statement detailing your exact request (i.e whether you would simply like to review your child’s Personal Information, if you would also like it deleted from our servers, and/or whether you would like us to prohibit your child from re-registering with the Site and/or providing us with any further Personal Information at a later date); and
- a statement by you, certifying that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child whose information you are requesting;
KidzVuz will respond to all such requests, informing the parent or legal guardian of its compliance with his or her request, within 3 business days or as soon as is commercially practicable .
4. California Residents’ Privacy Rights
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits any users who are residents of the State of California to request certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. 5. KidzVuz’s Use of Your Information
We may use the Personal Information collected in connection with our Site for internal marketing research purposes, to send you information about KidzVuz or our products or Services, to contact you when necessary and in conjunction with your use of certain Services, or to contact you in the event that there is a question or concern about your child’s account. communications.
6. Information Collected by Third Parties
Certain content and Services offered to you through or in connection with our Site may be served on websites hosted and operated by a company other than KidzVuz (“Third Party Contractor Sites”). KidzVuz does not disclose your Personal Information to these Third Party Contractor Sites without your consent, but you should be aware that any information you disclose once you access these other websites is not subject to this Privacy Policy. KidzVuz does not endorse and is not responsible for the privacy practices of these Third Party Contractor Sites. You should review the privacy policy posted on any other website to understand how that Third Party Contractor Site collects and uses your personally identifiable information.
7. Links to Other SitesThe Site contains links to third party websites with which KidzVuz has no affiliation. KidzVuz does not share your Personal Information with those websites and is not responsible for their privacy practices. Some websites may have the look and feel of our Site. Please be aware that you may be on a different website and that this Privacy Policy only covers our Site. Should you decide to visit one of these third party websites, we suggest that you read its privacy policy carefully.
8. Disclosure of Your Information
We share certain categories of information we collect from you with third parties in the ways described in this Privacy Policy. We share Personal Information and Traffic Data with our business partners who assist us by performing core services (such as Site hosting, data storage and security) related to our operation of the Site and/or by making certain Services available to our users. Those business partners shall be bound to uphold the same standards of security and confidentiality that we have promised to you in this Privacy Policy, and they will only use your contact data and other Personal Information to carry out their specific business obligations and to provide you with Site-related Services. KIDZVUZ DOES NOT SHARE, SELL, RENT OR TRADE THE PERSONAL INFORMATION OF ITS USERS WITH ANY THIRD PARTIES FOR THEIR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES without your explicit consent.
Lastly, we may transfer information about you to another company in connection with a merger, sale or acquisition by or of KidzVuz. In this event, the acquiring site will be bound by this privacy policy. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you before information about you is transferred and if the policies of the acquiring company are different, then your affirmative consent may be necessary in order to continue the service for your child.
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Site.

We will honor all requests not to share a child’s information with any third parties; however, doing so, may limit your child’s ability to access certain areas of the Site and/or use certain of the Services..
9. Personal Information and Posted Content
Some of our Services allow users to provide us with Posted Content (as defined in the Terms & Conditions), including product reviews and user comments. In connection with Posted Content, KidzVuz employs various technical and managerial measures, including filters and live moderation, to ensure that Posted Content does not disclose any Personal Information. Nonetheless, if you or your child chooses to provide Posted Content to the Site and in so doing, to disclose Personal Information, you should be aware that such information could be read, collected or used by other users. We are not responsible for the accuracy of the Personal Information you or your child choose to disclose in Posted Content..
10. Data Security and Integrity
The security, integrity and confidentiality of your information are very important to us. We have implemented technical, administrative and physical security measures that are designed to protect member information from unauthorized access, disclosure, use and modification. From time to time, we will review our security procedures to consider appropriate new technology and methods. Please be aware though that, despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.
11. Choice/Opt-out

12. Transfer and Storage of Data
The Site is hosted on servers in the United States. Accordingly, if you are located outside of the United States, the Personal Information you provide to us will be transferred to the United States. By submitting your Personal Information, you consent to its transfer and storage in the United States and its use in accordance with the purposes for which it was originally collected.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
From time to time, we may change this privacy policy to accommodate new technologies, industry practices, regulatory requirements or for other purposes so please review it frequently. If we do, then we will notify you here, as well as by posting a notice on our Site and/or by e-mailing you. We will provide parents notice by e-mail of any material changes in the way we intend to collect, use, and/or share their child’s personal information. If these changes are material and, where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent.

KidzVuz is a participant in PRIVO®’s Privacy Assurance Program (“PPAP”). As part of participating in the PPAP, KidzVuz adheres to the strict information collection, use and disclosure requirements. PRIVO is an independent, third party organization
committed to safeguarding children’s personal information collected online, and to helping parents and their children exercise control over personal information while exploring the Internet. The certification seal posted on this page indicates that KidzVuz has established privacy practices and has agreed to submit to PRIVO’s oversight and consumer dispute resolution process.
